Mohg (LVL1 NG+7 no talismans/buffs/skills/etc.)

I wasn't happy with the first round, so I worked on some ways to optimize it. I did a 5 minute fight a week ago, and it's still 5 minutes here, so I've gotten bored of this boss since I can't do much more with it. I'll move on to the rest of the game again.

There are so many possible scenarios around the bloodflame shower that it's hard to count. I don't see many players play aggressively with that attack (unless they use Carian Retaliation) since there isn't much reward for doing so, but I really wanted to play around it. If you run away to reset Mohg's AI to neutral, he quickly goes back to using easily punishable moves, so it's not inherently rewarding to stay close.

Generally, you can always sneak an extra hit so long as you aren't committed to a long attack animation. Then, you can find a safe direction to roll away based on your current position relative to him, and you can manipulate his tracking to make sure his next combos will drag him away from the pool on the ground (e.g. the sequences at 0:23, 0:41, 1:19). If he goes into an idle animation (1:25), you can retreat to make sure he doesn't walk backwards into the pool.

Phase 2 is a bit more interesting because you can sometimes clip his wings in addition to the normal punishes (e.g. 2:35, 3:40). I thought I could pull off some other unique tricks, but most of my ideas didn't work out. I suppose better players would have done that stuff if it was feasible. I thought it would be possible to jump over the flying attack since it hits so low to the ground, and I thought I had quick enough reaction time to sneak an R1 during the running attack at 3:01, but alas.

This shows more of the strategy:    • Mohg w/stamina talismans (LVL1 NG+7 n...
