Today I’m making Tamales Verdes de Pollo (Chicken Chile Verde Tamales) 😋 Perfect for beginners or anyone wanting an easy homemade recipe! While it takes time, bringing the family together makes it worthwhile. Ideal for any occasion but especially during the holidays, Thanksgiving and Christmas, you'll love them 🥰 This recipe makes about 30 tamales. GREEN CHICKEN TAMALES INGREDIENTS:
For the chicken filling
► 8 garlic cloves
► 1 cup of water
► 6 lb chicken
► 1 whole onion
► 1 garlic head
► 2 bay leaves
► 1 tsp whole black pepper
► 1 tbsp salt
► 1/2 white onion
► Some black pepper
► 1 tbsp chicken bouillon
For the green salsa:
► 12 tomatillos
► 2 serrano peppers
► 1 jalapeño
► 3 Anaheim peppers
► 2 poblano peppers
► Some cilantro
► 3 garlic cloves
► 1/2 white onion
► 1/2 tsp oregano
► 1/2 tsp black pepper
► 1/2 tsp cumin
► 1 tbsp chicken bouillon
► 1 cup of water from tomatillos
For the masa
► 1 1/2 cups lard
► 2 tsp salt
► 5 tsp baking powder
► 6 cups masa (I'm using Maseca for Tamales)
► 4 cups chicken broth (from where we cooked the chicken)
► 2-3 cups of water
► Some corn husks
