You might not even know why the narcissist is giving you the silent treatment. Was it something you did? Or didn’t do? The silent treatment is a form of emotional abuse and when you can better understand all of the signs of emotional abuse then you can better protect yourself from the toxic relationship of the narcissist. How to stop the silent treatment may never be known and this makes it even harder to predict whether this is the permanent discard. You can’t learn how to deal with silent treatment if you don’t even know if that is what you are experiencing. The narcissist likes to keep you confused so that they can control you. The narcissist will end the silent treatment if they need to refill their supply. However, the narcissist discard will be permanent if the narcissist finds a new supply who can refill their supply. The reason why narcissist discard happens is because it is what they need and it has nothing to do with you, even though it might feel personal. The problem has never been you, and you must remember that.
