a severing of ties
that once bound us,
a rending
of the very fabric
of our connection.
It is a wound
that bleeds
a scar
that will never
fully heal
a reminder
of the fragility
of love
and the cruelty
of fate.

We were once
two halves of a whole
our hearts
our souls
entwined in a dance
of passion and devotion
But now,
that it is shattered,
the pieces scattered
each one a reminder
of what we had
and what we have lost

It is a grief that consumes
a sorrow
that gnaws
