The comprehensive cast of the Johto VA made me hopeful that we'd get the same treatment for Hoenn, so I was disappointed when the story left out quite a number of characters. Decided to make the most out of it though with this theme, which locks me out of using any of the characters that appear in the Hoenn Villain Arc's story. This includes alts, so I can't use any of the Steven, May, and Brendan units I have.

Here's how each battle went, and the sync grids used:

Vs. Looker: Liza / EX SS Morty / Flannery - https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=...

Flannery is the most accessible Impervious unit from Hoenn, and she just so happens to be pretty bulky too. Tanking with her also spares the entire team from any debuffs coming from Croagunk, which is especially helpful for unlucky Unfortuitous rolls. She does double-duty here as she is also the sync nuker, which is backed by the sun from SS Morty. With enough lucky MPR procs, he can keep the team healthy with his Potions and keep the sun up for the whole clear, which not only tops up the team with Sunbathe, but protects him from debuffs with Sunny Disposition. Liza completes the team with her fast buffs, and she also outputs some good-enough damage with Psychic later in the fight.

Vs. Looker: EX Sidney / Jasmine / Roxanne - https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=...

Unlike the Wally EBE, this fight isn't too friendly for Sidney, as he has no way of blocking the debuffs on his own. He gets help from Jasmine in that regard with her trainer move, which also completes his Attack buffs thanks to some lucky MPRs. Roxanne completes the team with her comprehensive buffs and Wide Guard.

(Sidney also has to deal with confusion RNG, as there were a few attempts where Croagunk recovers from confusion right before Sidney's sync, severely weakening his damage output.)

Got this idea from Zinfogel, who used Brawly in an F2P clear of this stage (   • Hoenn's Best Extreme Battle: Take on Wally...  ). With this stage being vulnerable to Defense debuffs, Brawly is more than happy to take advantage of that with his double Relentless sync. Sonia helps activate that and keeps the team topped off, while Phoebe tanks for the team and provides crit buffs. Shadow Punch also starts doing pretty good chip damage later in the stage.

Vs. Zinnia: Lisia / EX SC Jasmine / Drake - https://ng-pomatools.web.app/team?v0=...

I was trying to do this with Wallace as the main damage-dealer, but he just wasn't outputting enough damage even with SS Kris support. So I went to his niece instead, and Lisia is of course fantastic for this stage. SC Jasmine gives her all the buffs she needs, while Drake tanks for the stage, activates the type skill, refills the gauge, and does pretty good chip damage with Dragon Breath.
