Lately, the scorching dry heat has resulted in numerous preserved railways across the country sidelining steam locomotives due to the risk of lineside fires. However, the Dartmouth Steam Railway remained undeterred and soldiered on with their 'Kingsbeer Festival' over the 13th - 15th of July.

Visiting from the Didcot Railway Centre, 'The Blue King' 6023 "King Edward II" provided the mainstay of services throughout the day, looking very much at home on the English Riviera. 6023 started the morning, by being replaced on the first return service by resident 7800 'Manor' Class 7827 "Lydham Manor". The King worked one return service facing towards Paignton, before a light run to Churston saw the locomotive turned to face Kingswear for the remainder of the day.

Locomotives:
BR(W) 7800 'Manor' Class - 7827 "Lydham Manor"
Ex-GWR 6000 'King' Class - 6023 "King Edward II"
BR Class 25 - D7535 "Mercury"

All footage filmed on Friday the 13th of July 2018.
