Imperfection modelling is a prerequisite for general buckling analysis. Here the imperfection is modeled using the mode shapes. Therefore just two models are required: Model-A: to compute the mode shape using linear buckling; Model-B: to carry out nonlinear buckling analysis with imperfection.
The steps followed in this tutorial is as followed:
(1) linear buckling analysis.
(2) mode shape.
(3) imperfection modelling for thermo-mechanical problem.
(4) thermo-mechanical analysis for buckling.
One can directly start modelling the thermo-mechanical analysis for buckling if the imperfection data is already available in some form. See *imperfection in Abaqus Keyword manual for details.

Please note that this is a tutorial video about how to model the thermal buckling of a thin shell in Abaqus. Every modelling detail is not matching with the paper. For example, the outer boundary of the shell is restrained, which is not the correct boundary condition as per the paper. Also, the type of temperature loading can be different.
