Carotene Purification from Carrots using Shimadzu Preparative HPLC with Liquid Handler LH-40

Описание к видео Carotene Purification from Carrots using Shimadzu Preparative HPLC with Liquid Handler LH-40

Purification of nutrients from food can be automatically done by Shimadzu preparative HPLC. This demo video shows how to purify carotene, one crucial carotenoid, from carrots. Ethanol is used to extract carotene from homogenized carrot samples. After centrifugation or filtration, the extract can be directly injected into a Shimadzu preparative HPLC system via a liquid handler (LH-40) for analysis and fraction collection. LH-40 is part of the system and is capable of conducting sample injection, fraction collection and sample re-injection. Manual fractionation, time program fractionation and peak integration fractionation are three fraction collection methods. The simulation function of LH-40 helps users to conveniently set fraction collection parameters. With Shimadzu preparative HPLC, targeted components of a sample can be easily and precisely separated and collected.
