Surviving Craig Jones in Thailand

How many people will get arrested this time? Craig Jones is one of the best grapplers in the world, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach to reigning UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander "The Great" Volkanovski, one of the owners of B-Team Jiu Jitsu in Austin Texas, host of the El Segundo Podcast, mentor to Jozef Chen.

He's also one of the funniest and most creative forces in modern martial arts. That part matters to me way more.

He recently held one of his rare BJJ training camps in beautiful Phuket, Thailand at Absolute MMA in Rawai district. How could I not fly down and immerse myself in this experience? Two training sessions more or less every day for a week, plus a whole lot going on outside of class. And we get to see Craig Jones rolling in real life, and who wouldn't want to see Craig Jones BJJ in real life?

Thailand is world famous for fight camps including Tiger Muay Thai, AKA Thailand, BangTao MMA, but only Absolute MMA Thailand holds the esteemed honour of hosting Craig Jones and his legion of misfit students during the wet and wild Songkran (Thai New Year) festival. Also joining us were Jozef Chen, ​‪@TylerTheUke‬ and Adam Jones, Craig's older brother.

My goal was to make it to every class, and go on some side adventures, but there were many obstacles facing all of us. Food poisoning, dehydration, skin infections, legal and illegal drugs, parties, alcohol, lady boys, motorbike accidents. People got arrested the last time there was a Craig Jones camp in Thailand. So come with me on this adventure and see how it turns out!
