I dive into how dynamic ticket pricing has evolved over time, and the eventual rise of the official platinum seat. Ticketmaster has been using a dynamic ticket pricing system for many years now, just like many other industries. By being able to raise (or lower) ticket prices, they are able to maximize the amount of revenue generated year after year.

Their official platinum seating program on the other hand is simply designed to match the expected market values of seating in potentially prime locations. However, some of the seating options set aside for official platinum seating have left more questions than answers, especially when they are located in side view and near the back of the venue as well.
