Hauling the dragnet (Snurvod) in

Hey Folks, welcome again. Today I will be sharing with you how we pull in the dragnet (snurvod / Norwegian name). We first throw out t a buoy and then the first reel of rope is attached to that. once that rope is off the drum we connect the net and the net is then cast into the sea. then the other drum is attached and that is emptied . We drive in a circle. when we finish the second drum we are approaching the first buoy we put out. That buoy is picked up and the rope is connected to the drum again. a bit a slack rope is taken up to get the two ropes the same length and the the boat drives at about 11,7 knots of speed. we drive for about an hour and then the ropes are pulled in back onto the drum. the net is attached to the centre drum and it is hauled in until the last part where the pocket is. That is pulled around to the side of the boat and the pocket with the fish is lifted with a crane and emptied into the silo. I hope you enjoy the video. Have a great day.
