I've been an Aerosmith fan since I was in high school, and while my real interest with the group lies in their legendary funky-grit-rock from the 1970s, their longevity, popularity, and influence is undeniable and Joe Perry and Brad Whitford (Aerosmith's secret weapon) are total guitar legends.

This lesson takes a look at some memorable and interesting chord-based ideas from Aerosmith's catalog of music during their heyday in the '70s, including classic riffs and chord moves from 'Back In The Saddle,' 'Same Old Song And Dance,' 'Draw The Line,' and many more. Perry and Whitford find various ways to lock together in their songs, but I've always attempted to combine different parts together and have found myself doing that a lot with Aerosmith's music, so this lesson touches on this "grab what you can" subject as well.

There should be something here for everyone, as Aerosmith has always had one foot in rock and the other in blues, while also pulling out various funk, soul, and R&B influences as well, so you never really know what's going to happen next and their classic material is literally a goldmine of great ideas you can learn from and explore.
