UGANDA -Supporting farmers with disabilities to improve their livelihoods.

10 years ago Ugandan farmer Fred Ouma lost his sight. Unable to contribute to his family, Fred became depressed, and his family unit suffered, he even contemplated taking his own life.

The PRELNOR project funded by the International Fund for Agricultural Development or IFAD and the government of Uganda assigned a mentor to Fred’s family, to help them get back on their feet..

The family now have a working farm, a healthy relationship and they share farming and household tasks.
