Patellar tendonitis and jumper knee is a condition that occurs from excess jumping and/or repetitive motion at the knee. As a result, the constant eccentric (negative) load to the knee causes irritation to the patellar tendon and can cause tendonitis. As this goes on for some time, this can lead to a more degenerative (Chronic) condition known as patellar tendinopathy or jumper's knee.

The major issue with this condition is that it is hard to get an athlete or someone to completely stop using the muscle and tendon. As a way of taking stress off and reducing inflammation of the tendon, we recommend using a strap or taping (Kinesiotaping) for this condition. This episode will show you a quick and easy way to tape your own knee at home so that you can jump-start your healing process.
