Full Service and Troubleshooting a Broken Lord Elgin with a AS 2066 Movement

Описание к видео Full Service and Troubleshooting a Broken Lord Elgin with a AS 2066 Movement

In this video, I am performing a full service on an Elgin wristwatch with a AS 2066 movement. When I received the AS 2066, it would only briefly run, and the crown would not turn at all when trying to set the hands.

The AS 2066 belongs to a large A. Schild family of movements including the AS 1900,1901 and 1904 as well as the AS 2060, 2061 and 2064 and are available with 17, 21, or 25 jewels.
This movement is used in a number watches including the Rado and Rotary watches as wells as the Bulova 11UK0CB, the Gruen 790 CB and the Tissot 2900 and many others.

The AS2600 is a unique movement which features an indirectly driven minute wheel. The center wheel has 2 pinions. The top one is a standard pinion which interacts with the mainspring barrel. The second pinion rotates below the fixed pinion and is held on to the 2nd wheel arbor with a clip. This drives the minute wheel which pivots on a spring-loaded post. The cannon pinion should be capable of turning independently of the center wheel to allow time setting. The clip holds the cannon pinion in place and provides the correct tension necessary for proper friction with the center wheel. If you are having problems winding a AS 2066 movement, often this is where the problem lies.
