Описание к видео Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder & OCPD Presentation Analysis

This video answers the question: Can I analyze a presentation example related to obsessive-compulsive disorder? Here I review a presentation related to both OCD and obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (OCPD).

Obsessive-compulsive disorder:

This disorder is characterized by the presence of obsessions (e.g. intrusive thoughts) and compulsions, which are behaviors (e.g. counting rituals, repeated checking) that alleviate some of the anxiety caused by the obsessions.

Obsessive-compulsive personality disorder:

This disorder is characterized by a pervasive pattern of preoccupation with perfectionism and orderliness. The diagnosis is given when somebody meets four or more of the eight symptom criteria:

1. preoccupation with lists, order, organization, rules, and details
2. perfectionism that impedes the completing of tasks
3. excessive devotion to work and productivity
4. overconscientious, scrupulous, and inflexible about matters of morality
5. unwilling to throw out worthless objects
6. reluctant to delegate tasks
7. miserly spending style
8. rigid and stubborn
