Denver and Rio Grande 168 & The Night Train to Cumbres

Описание к видео Denver and Rio Grande 168 & The Night Train to Cumbres

Let's crank the sensitivity of Nikon's Z6 and put on some fast lenses, because here's some footage shot from the Cumbres and Toltec's 'Victorian Iron Horse Roundup' in August 2021.

This is a re-issue of "Night Train to Cumbres" Here:    • Night Train to Cumbres: Victorian Iro...

For more on the Rio Grande Southern # 20:    • Is this Colorado's Most Famous Steam ...

Follow along as we catch recently restored Denver and Rio Grande ten-wheeler (4-6-0) No. 168 pull a train of restored passenger equipment from Chama New Mexico to the summit at the end of the 14-mile, 4% grade, at Cumbres Colorado. Along with the famed T-12, which was restored by a crew of Cumbres and Toltec employees led by Stathi Pappas in the railroad's Antonito Shops, is the Durango Railway Historical Society's Denver and Rio Grande Western 2-8-0 No. 315 backdated to its original Denver and Rio Grande appearance as No. 425. This run would eventually end in Antonito Colorado early the following day and was the final event of the VIHR on the C&TS, but our final shot will catch it under the rising waning moon. This trip almost didn't happen on the second day as 168 would throw its eccentric rod resulting in repairs by GM Stathi Pappas (Now of Sierra Northern/California Western's 'The Skunk Train') and Jason Sobczynski of the Kentucky Steam Heritage Corp and is "That Steam Guy" (here: ‪@thatsteamguy1082‬)

And I need to give a big shoutout to Paul Springowski who provided some of the lighting in the Chama Yard and at Dalton to light up these scenes.

This production is a composite of two separate days and we’ll follow it in the order of a single outward trip. We'll catch this train both in and outside the Chama YardLimit, er Yard Limits. We won't be Delayed In Block as there's no Distant Signal to look out for here since the whole narrow gauge was unsignaled. Don't bother keeping an eye out for Hyce, as He's not in the shots. o. Enjoy this non-Duragno and Silverton Video... Wait, we do a lot that aren't the D&SNG? We already do too many C&TS? More narration, too much? Is anyone reading this? Yes, there's music... # Sorry Not Sorry.
