Who has the BEST BBQ?? South Carolina OR North Carolina (RV East Coast Road Trip)

We keep heading North on our East Coast road trip! Next up in Charleston, SC... but the campsite is soooo relaxing that we decide to just enjoy it and not explore the city... we will be back for that! But before we leave South Carolina, we have to try some BBQ! So we stop in Myrtle Beach to visit Pop Pop's BBQ which came highly recommended by some locals. It was a little hole in the wall, but sometimes these are the BEST restaurants! And it did not disappoint. Some of the most tender brisket we have ever had!

And now, we have to try some BBQ in North Carolina... but first we are going to explore the city of Wilmington. We park Elly downtown, I love that our RV is small enough to do this, and walk to the Cape River. Such a lovely walk!! There is a boardwalk all the way down the river with restaurants, bars and cute shops. We spend a wonderful afternoon wandering and watch the sunset over the river.

Ok, BBQ time! Mission BBQ has the best reviews in town, but when we pull up it is in a shopping center... should we trust BBQ in a shopping center? Actually, it is really good! The entire restaurant is dedicated to the military which we love! And the food is great! We do a straight up brisket comparison... who will win? NC or SC??
