Orkney Grooved Ware

Описание к видео Orkney Grooved Ware

Grooved Ware pottery was Britain's first flat bottomed pottery, originating in the islands of Orkney it spread throughout the British isles towards the end of the fourth millennium BC. It is the predominant ceramic form found at Durrington Walls, from the time of the main construction phase at Stonehenge. Probably used as storage and brewing vessels some of these pots were very large indeed but it's recently been suggested that even medium sized pots may have taken weeks to make. I'm currently making a number of replica Neolithic grooved ware pots for the Skara Brae visitor centre, but how long does it take to make one?
