Rawtenstall Cemetery, Rossendale

Rawtenstall Cemetery first opened January 1877. The chapel, gates and boundary wall are grade 2 listed.

The site is home to 38 war graves and a war memorial just past the main entrance for those who fought in WW1.

The site originally contained three chapels; Church of England, Roman Catholic and non-conformists however now only the one nearest the entrance remains.

The site is home to Caroline Whitehead the first female mayor of Rawtenstall.
