In the occupied West Bank village of Shuqba, west of Ramallah, Israeli forces demolished a Palestinian family’s home, citing its construction without a permit.

Since October 2023, demolitions in Palestinian areas have intensified, leaving families vulnerable and displaced. Naim Abu Murad, the father-in-law of the homeowner, described arriving to find the house nearly reduced to rubble, calling the army “unjust” and “a force that no one is able to deter.”

He added that his son-in-law had tried to obtain a permit but was denied, noting that permits are rarely issued and framing the demolition as part of a broader effort to displace Palestinian families from their land.
