TRIP REPORT- Etihad Airways B777-300 Manchester- Abu Dhabi (Economy)

On October 30th 2016 we flew with Etihad Airways from Manchester to Abu Dhabi. This was our first time flying with Etihad and here's our trip report.

Arriving at Manchester's terminal 1 we headed to Etihad's check in area located in the far corner of the terminal. The check in process and queuing was very simple and straight forward with a dedicated line for online check in. Etihad's customer service desk was located opposite the check in and was very smart and modern. After check in and security we headed through to the airside terminal which had a great variety of shops and food outlets. We then began the long walk down peir charlie to stand 30. The waiting lounge was extremely busy as it was a totally full flight. After business had boarded they invited economy passengers to board however there was no system to the boarding by row number and so boarding was slightly hectic. Boarding our B777-300 we were greeted by a very friendly crew. The cabin of the 777-300 was in a 3-4-3 configuration and although the seats were clean and modern it wasn't the most spacious of cabins. Each seat had a 32 inch seat pitch and was 18 inches in width and overall i had no complains or drawbacks about the seat. After takeoff we were handed a hot towel to refresh ourselves before the meal service began. The meal itself was quite good and i particularly liked the metal cutlery. The IFE was very modern and efficient with a good selection of movies and programmes for every age and culture. Before landing we were served a small snack however this service was left too late by the crew and it all became very rushed as we started our descent. Abu Dhabi airport itself was very impressive and modern and extremely clean. Overall we had a good experience with Etihad. The flight left on time and there was no major issues. However we did feel that the crew were very slow with it taking a good while before a bar service and the snack being very rushed at the end. However we did arrive early into Abu Dhabi and the flight was very straight forward and we would fly with Etihad again in the future.
