TO THE HILLS! THE OCHIL HILLS!

Sometimes you've just got to head for the hills; to leave the big city behind and cleanse your mind and body in Scotland's great outdoors. This small hill walk, mostly on wide hill-tracks, takes us from Menstrie into the Ochil Hills and down into Bridge of Allan. The initial plan to end elsewhere was altered during the walk, but I'll explain all that in due course. With constant views of the hill of Dumyat, we make our way through Menstrie Glen, by old steadings like Little Jerah and Jerah, and by Lossburn Reservoir towards the road to Sheriffmuir. From there we skirt Cocksburn Reservoir and descend into Bridge of Allan. The weather's fine and the air smells sweet. We're off on another adventure.
