After the fall, Satan moved to strike down the prophesied Seed—the Savior of the world. Killing and corrupting, the tools of Satan’s malice, were seen in the person of Cain who killed his brother, Abel. Satan continued in his corruption by poisoning the whole generation before the flood.

Despite his attempts to kill off the royal Seed, God preserved the genealogical line and the Redeemer came just as God prophesied. So we can say with great confidence that Satan’s victories are merely illusions.
