The Flamin' Mamies - Cow Cow Boogie

Описание к видео The Flamin' Mamies - Cow Cow Boogie

Yee-Haaa! This country-boogie song was written for the film Ride Em Cowboy (1942) and first recorded by Ella Mae Morse, and shortly afterwards by Ella Fitzgerald with the Inkspots. The music was written by Don Raye and the lyrics by Benny Carter and Gene De Paul.

The Flamin' Mamies are a 5 piece, all-girl jazz string band who hail from Liverpool in the UK. We have been playing together for just over 2 years, have been friends for much longer, and we were mostly beginners when we started. Our line up is:

Lil' Mamie Brown - Vocals and Guitar
Kirsty Walker - Double Bass
Mandy 'Banjo' Bailey - Banjo and vocals / scat sounds
Chantilly Lace - Ukulele and vocals / scat sounds
Cress the Goddess - Washboard and Percussion

You can also find us on facebook and soundcloud (live tunes available for download) :

For those who are interested in the instrumentsd, I am playing a Ludwig Wendell Hall Professional Banjo Ukulele, and Mandy is playing a Bacon and Day Silver Bell Serenader.

Our fabulous brother band here in Liverpool are Sidney Bailey's No Good Punchin' Clowns, and if you like our music you will love theirs so look them up.
