I’ll never forget those words:
“At least you had a healthy baby.”

I didn’t say anything.
I smiled, nodded, and let it pass.
But later… I wished I had spoken up. 🗣️

Because in that moment — after everything I had been through —it made me feel alone and invisible.😢

After experiencing postpartum hemorrhage and losing 2 liters of blood which ended in an emergency surgery — Jeff and I were traumatized. He didn’t know that I would come out of surgery okay and we needed to talk about it over and over just to begin processing.

And at the same time… we were elated. So in love with our baby girl. Grateful she was here and safe. ❤️🙏


Both were true.
Trauma and joy can live side by side.
You can be thankful and still shaken.
You can love your baby and still need time to heal.
You can carry joy and grief in the same breath.
