Ice Age 2 GBA was the next game I wanted my runs to be remastered. Since both my six-year old PBs have been beaten, it was a good opportunity for coming back.

A bunch of new strats and better movements were found since 2018, including:
Sneaking between rocks and walls.
Turning off the in-game music.
Searching for the fastest Geyser cycles.
Adapting the cycles along with Crash and Eddie's RNG.
Better overall execution to navigate through the maps.
Switching Characters and Exiting Levels as optimally as possible.
Searching consistent strats for Bosses.

I achieved sub 2:10 when my goal was only getting a mid 2:1x PB!
So a very satisfying come back after my 6-year old break.

About this run:

I played the USA version using BizHawk 2.8 Emu with an Xbox 360 controller.
I compared English with some other languages like French and Italian from the Europe version. English is faster by less than 5 textboxes.
BizHawk 2.8 because I started a TAS of this game when the latest version was 2.8 but I could have used 2.9.1. No emulator rules are specified yet.
I turned off the in-game music and played some soundtracks of the game in the background.

Biggest time losses from mistakes and old routes :
10s in Waterpark Level 2: A new route saves over 10s.
19s in Waterpark Level 4: I messed up with the Geyser cycles.
27s in Rocky Pass Level 2: I forgot an animal and missed a Geyser cycle.
30s in Rocky Pass Boss: I restarted once.
18s in Geyser Field Level 1: I missed a green geyser cycle.
12s in Geyser Field Level 3: A new route saves up to 12s.
30s in Geyser Field Level 5: I got bad Crash & Eddie and bad execution.
1m50s in Forest Level 6: A new route saves up to 1m45s.
28s in Forest Boss: I restarted once.
24s in Ice Floes Level 1: I'm 3 green geyser cycles late.
50s in Ice Floes Boss: I didn't restart but I got a very slow kill.

So there's still a wide room for improvements, nearly 6 minutes to save.

Next, I'll try to improve my Any% PB of this game with a sub 1:40 goal.
