A close look at the 4 ships which are, as of Apr.6, 2022, at the MRC yard in Port Colborne, scheduled for scrapping. The ship that's been here the longest is PAUL H TOWNSEND, which arrived in Sept. 2017. Only the aft end of her hull remains now; they have been taking their time on that one.
The next one, ST CLAIR, arrived here on Dec.9, 2021, and her scrapping is well on the way.
MANISTEE arrived here just a week ago, on Mar.30, 2022; and OJIBWAY arrived yesterday morning, on Apr.5, 2022.
All but OJIBWAY were towed here. OJIBWAY sailed here from Sorel, Quebec on her own. It was strange seeing her going in and out of the canal locks just yesterday, as a fully functional, working ship - today: a dead ship.
