The MANISTEE seen arriving at Port Colborne on Wed. Mar.30, 2022, at 8.30am.
She was pulled by the tug BEVERLY M1, and assisted into place by the tugs VAC, CHARLIE E., and JOHN D.
This WW2-era ship was launched in 1943 under the name ADIRONDACK, and soon became the RICHARD J. REISS. In 2006 the name changed slightly to RICHARD REISS. In 2005, the name was changed to MANISTEE. She was permanently docked in Toledo in 2015, and finally, at the age of 79, left Toledo under tow 2 days ago, heading to the MRC ship breakers at Port Colborne, Ontario.
