Sabatino Mustacchi (1942)
Sabatino è nato a Trieste durante la Seconda guerra mondiale. In quest’intervista ha raccontato la storia del padre Marco Moise, detto Keto, ebreo di famiglia corfiota nato a Trieste nel 1916. Durante gli anni della Seconda guerra mondiale Keto venne temporaneamente deportato nel campo di concentramento di Bagno a Ripoli in quanto straniero e cittadino greco. Dopo essere ritornato a Trieste, venne arrestato e deportato ad Auschwitz nell’estate del 1944. Venne in seguito trasferito nel campo tedesco di Kaufering 11 e morì poco dopo la Liberazione. Per questa ragione venne sepolto in un cimitero tedesco, ma la famiglia non venne mai informata di ciò. Il figlio scoprì appena nel 2002 quanto accaduto al padre e da allora si impegnò per ritrovarlo, condurlo a Trieste e seppellirlo nel cimitero ebraico locale. Sabatino ricostruì anche tutta la vicenda del padre in un libro che pubblicò nel 2018: Il ritorno a casa di Marco Moise. Nel 2019 venne posta una Pietra d’Inciampo anche per lui.

Sabatino Mustacchi (1942)
Sabatino was born in Trieste during World War II. In this interview, he tells the story of his father Marco Moise, also known as Keto, a Corfiote Jew born in Trieste in 1916. During World War II, Keto was temporarily deported to the Bagno a Ripoli concentration camp as a foreigner and Greek citizen. After returning to Trieste, he was arrested and deported to Auschwitz in the summer of 1944. He was later transferred to the German camp of Kaufering 11 and died shortly after the Liberation. For this reason, he was buried in a German cemetery, but his family was never informed of this. Sabatino only discovered what happened to his father in 2002 and has since worked to find him, bring him back to Trieste, and bury him in the local Jewish cemetery. Sabatino also reconstructed his father's story in a book he published in 2018: Il ritorno a casa di Marco Moise (The Return Home of Marco Moise). In 2019, a Stolperstein was placed for him as well.
