Dr. Harwood is a Professor of Theology (occupying the McFarland Chair of Theology), Director of the Baptist Center for Theology & Ministry, and Editor of the Journal for Baptist Theology & Ministry at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans (NOBTS), Louisiana. Previously, he served for 13 years in church staff positions in Oklahoma and Texas. Prior to being elected to the faculty of NOBTS in 2013, he taught at three other institutions. He holds a B.A. (1996) in History Education from the University of Central Oklahoma and an M.Div. (2001) and Ph.D. in Theology (2007) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Also, he has served since 2017 as a chaplain in the Louisiana Army National Guard.
