I’m actually a die-hard fan of WWE. And y’all are gonna think I’m a kid, but guess what? I’m not ashamed. WWE is sooooo peak right now, and my grown butt stays up past midnight to watch the shows live. Matter of fact, I’ve actually even got merch, and the black John Cena embedded hoodie? Yeah, I actually got that. Y’all, I MADE MY OWN MERCH LMAOOOO (I should totally make Yeti merch btw). Sorry y’all, but your hubby is a kid on the inside.
Let me explain to all you wamen why WWE is cool af right now. Get ready to be mansplained. Okay, so Cena has been wrestling for about 23 years, and for the first 3 years, he was a “heel character”. This means a character who’s the “bad guy”. Then, he was pushed to become “babyface”, which is a good guy character that everyone loves. The thing this, a babyface period usually lasts a few years, and then the character turns heel. Cena, on the other hand, was babyface for 20 years! 2 whole decades! It got so crazy, that crowds started hating him, booing him even, because he was always a “good guy” that always won. He even started losing matches to make new generation wrestlers look good, but they would still always boo him.
The he kinda quit wrestling and started doing movies and acting. At the later end of last year, he announced that he’s retiring from WWE in April 2025, in Wrestlemania (the biggest WWE event of the year). Actually, I was so surprised to find this out, that I was minutes away from booking a flight ticket to Las Vegas and go watch him live for when he retires. I decided not to because I have exams at the time.
Okay, anyway, a couple weeks ago, the most INSANE thing happened! Cena was fighting, and after the match, the current champion walked in, and so did The Rock. The Rock was all like “ooooo tell me u think im daddy”, and the current champ was like “tf?” And Cena was like “yh dude, that’s weird ngl.” And then went to hug the current champ and be like “yessirrrr, we rock (haha pun intended)” and literally intended, because out of thin air, JOHN CENA TURNED HEEL!!! HE BECAME A BAD GUY AND DECIDED TO ATTACK THE CURRENT CHAMP!!!!
No one could believe their eyes, because for 2 whole decades, he was a good person character!!! Then, last week, he cut a promo saying why he turned heel. How the crowd’s always boo’d him despite him winning, being nice, putting his body on the line to be their puppet. Man no one can do a promo like him cause ong it was so fire, I was watching it on the train and just internally cheering so much. He even pointed at a random, innocent 10 year old kid and basically called him a bitch. Can you believe that??? And now, he’s fighting Wrestlemania in April against the champ for the title. And if he wins, he becomes 17 times champion, the most by any wrestler in the history of WWE. At the moment, he’s tied 16th with another wrestler, and hasn’t won a championship in 5 years. If he wins and retires, it’ll be the greatest thing in the world!!! AHHHH I’d ramble this to you in a voice recording if I could, I’m so obsessed rn.
But I swear, guys, if Cena doesn’t win… Idk what I’m gna do. I think I’ll genuinely post an hour long “cry with me uwu” cause that’s gna f*ck me up so bad.
