Nelson Mandela University (NMU) students in Gqeberha are protesting over NSFAS payment-related issues such as non-payment of NSFAS allowances, and students not allocated to the residence because they owe the university.
The students are complaining that lectures are continuing whilst some students are still not registered and are at home because NSFAS has not paid the university since last year. NMU SRC says they have made strides to help students where they can, but now want the university management to also assist.
