This is a session from the WATESOL Fall 2021 Virtual Conference.


Session Summary: This session seeks to bring translanguaging pedagogy to life for PK-12 teachers and teacher educators through dynamic dialog, shared examples, and hands-on practice. Participants will interact to deepen knowledge of the importance of translanguaging practices in teaching with bi-multilingual children. Resources for continued learning will be shared.

Presenter Bios:
Kathleen Ramos is an Associate Professor in George Mason University, School of Education. Her research and teaching interests include global competence education, translanguaging pedagogy, and multiliteracies practices.
Jessica Shirley is a PhD student in Teaching and Teacher Education and Multilingual/Multicultural in George Mason University. She is an experienced ESOL teacher, currently working with students in grades K-5.
