Session Summary: This interactive webinar, led by experienced teacher educators, invites PK-12 teachers to explore how and why to embrace a multiliteracies pedagogy with multilingual learners. Participants will dialog around multiliteracies practices, consider concrete examples, explore digital tools for learners to engage in multimodal representations, and share ideas with other practitioners!

Presenters' BIOs:

Kathleen Ramos is an Associate Professor in George Mason University, School of Education. Her research and teaching interests include global competence education, translanguaging pedagogy, genre pedagogy, and STEM disciplinary literacy.

Sujin Kim is an Assistant Professor in George Mason University, School of Education. Her research and teaching areas include bi-multilingual learners’ literacy development, STEM disciplinary literacy, and critical discourse analysis.

Joan Kang Shin, Ph.D. George Mason University, is an Associate Professor at George Mason University and Director of the Global Online Teacher Education Center. Her internationally recognized publications focus on teaching English to children.
