XHDATA D-608WB vs XHDATA D-109 on very distant shortwave signals: North Korea, Alaska and more

Описание к видео XHDATA D-608WB vs XHDATA D-109 on very distant shortwave signals: North Korea, Alaska and more

Myself and many viewers on my channel think that the brand new XHDATA D-608WB and the XHDATA D-109 appear to share many similarities. Even the screen looks very similar. The main difference is probably that the D-608WB has many useful emergency features, and sound quality. The antennas are also different lengths, on the D-608WB there is a 40cm (15.8 inches) antenna, on the D-109 it is 52cm (20.5 inches).

In this video I compare these two radios on a number of SW signals, nearby and very distant ones, like WWVH from Hawaii, KNLS from Alaska and Voice of Korea from North Korea. All using their built-in antennas only. I think these two radios are equally sensitive. But I do think that one of them sounds much better, and also appears to receive signals a bit clearer. All received at my regular location in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Both these radios are currently (January 2024) available on the XHDATA website at discounted prices. The D-608WB and the regular D-109 are basically the same price, $28.99 and $29.99. The D-109WB is a bit more expensive.
