Hello,
It's me, Capt. Neha Thakare here from CNTAA - THE PILOT GROUND SCHOOL
I'm a captain on airbus A320 and a mentor for aspiring pilots.
In past 12 years I've had opportunity to train aspiring pilots just like you & many of them are airline pilots now.

5 Hacks that are vital for you to know before you walk into DGCA Exams.
These will help you score great results in your dgca cpl exams.

Hack number 1
Exams Pattern : DGCA Exams cpl are conducted at DGCA centres across India online on computer.
100 marks for each subject but number of question vary subject to subject..
Navigation CPL : 100 questions 100 marks, 1 mark per question 3 hours or 180 minutes
Technical General : it's the same 100 questions 100 marks 3 hours
Met, Regs have 50 questions 100 marks 2 hours. So each question carries 2 marks.
It's very much similar to tests on CNTAA - THE PILOT GROUND SCHOOL full courses.
70% is passing.

Hack Number 2 :
Speed of solving questions :
No matter how well you have prepared for the exams, if you're not solving questions fast enough,
Student won't be able to finish paper in time.
Nav & Tech : you have average of 1.8 minutes per question.
Consider it to be 1.5 minutes per question. That will leave you 30 minutes as a buffer at the end of exam in which you can review answers that you might be uncertain about.
Specially when it comes to air navigation.
Keep theory questions at less than 1 minute & 2 minutes for sums.
At any time while you are appearing the exam, just do the math.
Example :
If you're on 60th question, you should be on or under 90 minutes of elapsed time in your exam.

To practice this, start sitting with a timer. Once you are done with studying, when solve practice questions, adhere to these times.
Pro tip : Do not rush and go wrong, idea is to be organised and mark the right answer!!

Hack Numer 3 :
Do not leave any question unmarked.
If you are uncertain about a question, make a note of it on rough sheet of paper that you're provided with.
Mark the best knowledgable answer that you could and move forward.
If you are unable to remember the answer, do not spend too much time scratching your head over the question. Mark and return back to this answer to review in last 30 minutes.
And at this time you will most certainly remember the answer if you have studied.
most likely you'll have already marked the correct answer.

Hack Number 4 :
Control emotions, stay focused & Do your best until the last minute.
Not only in #dgcaexams, but as a pilot this is what you need to do.
Fear, anxiety, excitement and similar emotions might be okay in day to day life but it's neither acceptable in cockpit not in the exam hall.
The Captain who's handling emergency is not primarily scared anxious or angry while handling an emergency.
If you have seen the movie Sully, you'll know how calm and collected the pilots were even during such a dire emergency.
They were doing what was needed to be done at that point of time.
And that is exactly what you need to do as you are becoming a pilot..
You have studied already. As you enter that exam hall, now is the time when you present that Knowledge in your exam.
Do not give up until the last minute of the exam. Just stay calm and you shall remember all that you have studied and revised.

Hack Number 5
READ QUESTIONS CAREFULLY
By this time I assume that you have studied all the concepts in detail. Yes, there is no other shortcut to knowing concepts in detail.
And once you are confident, as you enter exam hall, now it's time for application of that knowledge in the most precise way possible.
DGCA Exams are known to ask questions in twisted manner. So read questions carefully. While marking answers, read what you are marking carefully.
Options could be like
a. 1.99
B. 19.9
C. 91.9
And when that happens, candidates end up making silly mistakes. I do not want that to happen to any one of you. Make sure that you answer only what you intend to and nothing otherwise.
Also in some questions, question itself is asked in opposite manner.. Read carefully what exactly is being asked..

So there you have it!! If that was helpful, subscribe to the channel.
