3 Dangerous days finding rare 'SNOW LEOPARD' near Indo-Tibet Border | SPITI VALLEY

As they walked fearlessly and camouflaged, across the cliff of Spiti Valley, my heart beat rose to catch a first glimpse of the rarely spotted Snow leopards, a mother with her cubs.
It was my first time spotting the ghost of the snow, right in front of my eyes, and it froze me, sent me into shock, yet moved me.

In the remote village of Kibber, near the famous Chicham Bridge of Spiti Valley, these snow leopards find their home; in Kibber Wildlife National Park- a protected area, where to catch a glimpse of the wildlife one has to walk at a staggering high altitude in minus temperatures of winters.

The area is close to the Indo-Tibet border.
Located in the Trans-Himalayan region of the Himalayas, Spiti Valley starts at an elevation of 3000m above sea level. Scant precipitation makes Spiti a high-altitude desert with extremely scarce vegetation over most of its area. Natural vegetation mainly occurs along water courses and on high-altitude areas that receive more snow and cooler summer temperatures. Human settlements, however, are richly vegetated due to irrigation.
