How to Make COLD BREW with a FRENCH PRESS | Easiest Method

Описание к видео How to Make COLD BREW with a FRENCH PRESS | Easiest Method

Does the best, easiest cold brew coffee come from a device you may already have in your cabinet?

Kaldi’s Coffee team member Maud shows you our recipe for making incredibly tasty cold brew coffee in your trusty French Press, no matter what size brewer you own.

We specially designed this recipe around our 6 Cup (800ml) Yama French Press. It’s a little smaller than many French Presses on the market, so we are looking to stretch out the number of cups of cold brew we get from it while still getting a good extraction.

If you have a larger French Press, you can use the same 1:8 ratio (1 gram of coffee for every 8 mL of water) to get even more yield.

It is important to note that this recipe creates a CONCENTRATE of cold brew that is meant to be watered down - or diluted - prior to drinking. You can do this with water, ice, or your milk (or alt milk) of choice.

A brief explainer of ratios and yields mentioned in the video:

We are using 75 grams of coffee to 600mL of water (1:8 ratio)
From this, we get ~450mL of cold brew coffee concentrate
We dilute the concentrate 1:1. So for instance, if you pour out 150mL of concentrate, you will use 150mL of ice or water to dilute before drinking for a 300ml drink.
As a result, this gets you around 3 normal cups of cold brew coffee (450mL yield / 150mL use = 3 cups)
