The park boasts 103 campsites for tents and campers, but they are placed in a way that spreads most of them out in a beautiful area of forest that gives most sites a decent amount of privacy. Most of the sites are around 40 foot long. Some are pull through but they are rather tight. The turn arounds at the end of the camping areas can be tricky and extremely tight. There are also an additional 18 walk in campsites. There are also 35 cabins on site that range from 1 bedroom one bath to three bedrooms.

General Campground Overview-

It is important that if you have a class A with a towed vehicle that you disconnect before entering the campground. There is an area just before entry that says this with a widened area so traffic can get around you, but I saw someone disconnect at the visitor center, which is probably a better option.

The area in the front of the campground that contains sites 1-15 is probably the tightest in the campground, therefore you have less privacy. A lot of the better looking sites in this area are still questionable due to the angles and one way traffic constraints (especially site 11). For this reason, be very careful where you pick if you have a longer rig. A lot of sites are marked as 40’ sites but the access can be pretty sketch. I do have some sites that I specifically recommend for big rigs, under the site specific recommendations. It is highly probable that you could fit in a lot more of these sites depending on your skill level and comfort driving your specific rig. I will say a lot of the sites along Wolf Creek are wonderful and I recommend them, especially if you have smaller trailers, but because of maneuverability be very careful. Areas 22-31 are definitely shorter sites with two areas set up in a star pattern so there could be some complex backing involved depending on the site. The road is more narrow and curvy between sites 62 through 85. These are noted on the park map to be 25’ sites. The sign at the beginning of the road does show that they recommend these areas for tent camping and pop ups. I did notice some shorter tandem axle campers in there as well. The last thing I would caution you about is the pull through sites. While you can pull through a lot of them (depending on your rig) a lot of them are tight turns.

Site Specific Recommendations
These are some of the best sites that I would recommend in the park. As I mentioned most of these sites offer beautiful creek views and a good amount of privacy. We will start with sites 33 and 34. These sites are on the creek and are in my opinion the best sites in the park. They are also big rig friendly and relatively easy to back into. I also recommend site 39 which does have a creek flowing behind it. If 20’ or under I recommend site 58 as one of the best sites in the park, you could put a longer rig in there, but it is tight on the road there and the driveway going to the area has a decent incline, but a 20’ rig would be nice and level. Site 59 is also great for a shorter rig. I’m not sure a 30’ rig could make it through the pull through and then turn the correct way to get out of the park. We’ve already talked about how tight it is to turn around in this area. Site 38 is where we stayed and is a tight pull through. There is a decent amount of space and if you pull in correctly there is a ton of privacy. The back of your site has a lot of rhododendron growth with a small creek to the side of it, but that is a little ways behind the site. Site 45 is a huge site and is very wide. Due to the angle you would have to turn around to back into the site, but a lot of rigs could make this turn after a couple of three point turns because the site is so wide. 37 is a nice private site as well. Site 21 has the best mix of privacy / size / and verizon service. This is the one site I might think about in this section personally but there is no creek view. Site 49 is also a nice site.
