Niratat Dhang | Ashtapadi | SISK | Shambhavi Dandekar

Описание к видео Niratat Dhang | Ashtapadi | SISK | Shambhavi Dandekar

Niratat Dhang is a century old ‘Ashtapadi’, a creation of Pandit Bindadin Maharaj. The beautiful composition is choreographed by renowned Kathak dancer-choreographer Shambhavi Dandekar in 2008 and has been shot in 2013. A unique take on the poetry, it is rendered beautifully by her talented senior disciples.
The Ashtapadi starts with the landscape of Brindavan, with its fragrant air, the river Yamuna, with Krishna the charmer and his soulmate Radha. The verses explain their beauty, their magical union and its effect on the world. While Krishna and Radha dance, one comes across various Kathak terms, strengthening the bond between Krishna and Kathak. In the end, Maharaj Bindadin begs the Lord to bless him with his love as it is the only way to get rid of the worldly chaos and suffering.
Niratat Dhang is one of the most celebrated works of Shambhavi Dandekar. We have been receiving continuous requests to publish the full-length video for a while now. On the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami it gives us immense pleasure to bring the full performance to you.
