We cooked this lovely meal while on one of our camping trips, in the Dutch Oven, or Camp Oven as it is called in Australia. It would have to be the best Lamb Shanks I have ever eaten, the meat just fell off the bone. I like to dig a small hole just next to the fire and put the coals in that for the cooking, you can add or take away coals as needed, it also gets you away from the heat of the fire when adding or stirring the camp food.

Recipe.

4 Lamb Shanks (one each).

2 Chopped onions.

3 Carrots.

1-litre Beef Stock.

3 Potatoes.

Half a cup of Red wine.

2 to 3 Tablespoons of Gravox.

When it only has about 30min left to cook, mix the Gravox with half a cup of water and add it to the Dutch Oven, Let it simmer then until the gravy thickens.

Add spices or anything else you want to the mix, You are camping, be adventurous and try new things.
