Fresh fish stew/obe Eja imoyo is a very popular stable among the Yorubas in Nigeria. It is very easy to put together and super versatile so you can hardly go wrong in preparing it.

NOTE: This stew can be prepared with any fish or your fish of choice, I used croaker fish because I love it and it is absolutely delicious.

Imoyo stew is usually prepared light and not thick, it is called Imoyo because the fish is not fried but prepared fresh. It can be enjoyed with white rice, yam, pasta, ewedu for swallow or even served with eforiro.

Here are the ingredients I used:.


FOR THE PEPPER MIX
Tomatoes
Pointed peppers
Onion
Habanero
Garlic
Ginger

1 Onion chopped for the oil

The Crocker fish

Palm oil
Vegetable oil

Seasoned the stew with a mix of
Crayfish bullion and chicken bullion
Salt
