Durica Katarina író, újságíró Pozsonyban született, Csallóközben nőtt fel, jelenleg Budapesten él. Volt miniszteri szóvivő Szlovákiában, tudósított parlamenti választásokról, forgatott női börtönben. Éveket töltött arab országokban, az ott megélt élményeiből gyakran merít írásaiban. „A rendes lányok csendben sírnak" című regényében a dunaszerdahelyi maffia áldozatai szólalnak meg. Évekig járta a térséget és interjúkat készített az érintettekkel, nagy részük ekkor mesélt a 20 évvel ezelőtti borzalmakról először.
