My personal consumable-use guideline:

There are 6 potions, 4 incendaries, and 3 normal bombs on the map. Feel free to use normal bombs on assassins or hookrats that are hard to deal with (e.g. mixed in with dense hordes)

I planned for consumable use on these specific disabler sets:
- Rune 3: 12 assassins (1st incendiary)
- Rune 5: 8 hookrats (2nd incendiary) - a potion might be needed here for consistent progression
- Rune 6: 4 assassins (1st potion, 1 bomb if needed)
- Rune 6: 8 gatlings + 2 leeches (2nd potion) - you can potentially make do without this potion
- Rune 8: 3 assassins (3rd potion, 1 bomb if needed)
- Rune 8: 3 hookrats (3rd incendiary)
- Rune 8: 2 hookrats + 3 gatlings (4th incendiary + 4th potion)
- Rune 8: 2 assassins (5th potion, 1 bomb if needed)
- Rune 8: 4 flame rats + 3 leeches (6th potion)

Rune 7 does not require any consumable use provided you easily deal with the 2 hookrats coming over the fence near the wheelbarrow area + the immediately ensuing 2 leeches that are part of the same wave
