Ep. 62: Preparing spirit varnish

Hi to all my friends,

Here comes the spirit varnish preparation video.

If you are in hurry, and you don't want to capture all my nice hidden hummer, go straight to the recipe and feel happy that you got my recipe:
3 liters of Alcohol
400 grams of Shellac (Cremonese gomma lacca tipo "angelo") the most economic one is the best
200 grams of juniper ( in italiano: Ginepro o Sandracca)
80 grams of Mastic (mastice)
50 grams of Benzole (hope it is called like this also in English
16 grams of Curcumin

This is the "transparent"/yellow varnish. Actually I have never made transparent varnish since yellow for us violinmakers is the transparent one. If you need completely transparent one or less yellow one, leave the curcumin out and or search also for less yellow shellac in that case.
Varnishing with this one is easy and quick drying, and it works very well.
Let me know if someone need the resin mix, so I will calculate how much it is, and I can send it to you.
