একটা ব্যাপারে সব গবেষকই একমত যে, মথুরমোহন বিশ্বাস তাঁর দূরদৃষ্টি, তাঁর বাস্তবতাবোধ, তাঁর গভীর অন্তর্দৃষ্টি -- এসব দুর্লভ চারিত্রিক গুণাবলির মাধ্যমে মথুরবাবুই শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণকে প্রত্যক্ষভাবে দক্ষিণেশ্বর মন্দিরের আধ্যাত্মিক কর্মকাণ্ডের একেবারে কেন্দ্রে টেনে এনেছিলেন। শুধু তাই নয়, রানী রাসমণি দেবীর সম্মতিতে তিনি প্রত্যক্ষভাবে শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণের অন্নবস্ত্র বাসস্থান -- ইত্যাদি সার্বিক সুরক্ষার বন্দোবস্ত করেছিলেন, এবং শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণকে নিজের ইহকাল পরকালের শেষ সম্বল হিসাবে গ্রহণ করেছিলেন।
তবে রাসমণি দেবীর কাছে তাঁর অন্য আরো একটি পরিচয় ছিল। রানীমার কাছে মথুরবাবু ছিলেন একজন দক্ষ বৈষয়িক জামাই। বিষয়সম্পত্তি যেভাবে দেখাশুনা করতেন, বিষয়সম্পত্তির সুবন্দোবস্ত যেভাবে করতেন --- তা নিয়ে কারো কোনো প্রশ্ন থাকতো না। তবে অবিশ্বাস্য ঘটনা হলো এটাই যে, এমনই এক বিশ্বস্ত ভরসাযোগ্য মানুষটির বিরুদ্ধেই রানী রাসমণি দেবী কোর্টে মামলা করেছিলেন। কি এমন ঘটেছিল যে রানীমা তার জামাই মথুরমোহন বিশ্বাসের বিরুদ্ধে মামলা করতে বাধ্য হলেন?

কেন রানী রাসমণি দেবী মামলা করেছিলেন -- সেটাই এই ভিডিওর প্রধান আলোকপাতের বিষয়।

১৮১৭ সালে মথুরমোহন বিশ্বাস জন্মগ্রহণ করেছিলেন উত্তর 24 পরগনা জেলার বসিরহাট মহাকুমার স্বরূপনগর থানার অন্তর্গত বিথারি গ্রামে।

১৮৭১ সালের ১৬ ই জুলাই বিকেল ৫টা নাগাদ বেশ কয়েক দিনের কালান্তক এক জ্বরে কালীঘাটের বাগানবাড়িতে মথুরামোহন বিশ্বাস ৫৪ বছর বয়সে শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেন।
