1Fit started in 2017 in Kazakhstan with a simple idea: one membership for endless gym access. By 2025, they had lots of users in different countries, including Malaysia, where they started in early 2024. People loved their cheap, all-you-can-exercise model, and they signed up over 600 gyms. You could do yoga, Pilates, even get massages, all for a low price. It seemed like a dream for people who liked to try different fitness activities.

16 months after launching, the fitness app suddenly shut down just. This left thousands of Malaysians who paid for memberships, and many gyms, with NOTHING. This video explains why 1Fit failed, how its business plan was flawed from the start, and why it's a warning for everyone. Watch this so you don't fall for similar "too good to be true" offers!

1Fit's great idea had a big problem. They made money from your monthly payments, but they paid gyms every time someone visited. This meant they actually made more money if people didn't use the service much. Their huge marketing efforts brought in lots of users, but these users then went to many classes. This made 1Fit owe a lot of money to the gyms, which they couldn't pay. This isn't new – other companies like KFit in Malaysia and MoviePass in the US failed for the same reason. It just shows that if a deal seems too good for customers, someone else is probably losing out.
