Miroslav Bárta - Egyptolog

Český egyptolog a archeolog, profesor egyptologie na Univerzitě Karlově v Praze. Vede české výzkumy v Egyptě a Súdánu. Mezi jeho hlavní odborné zájmy patří studium Egypta v průběhu 3. tis. př. Kr., aplikace přírodních věd v egyptologii, studium staroegyptské pouště a studium civilizačních kolapsů. Autor mnoha českých i cizojazyčných monografií, editor (spolu s M. Kovářem) kompendia na téma kolapsů společností minulých a současných. V Egyptě pracuje 20 let.

Miroslav Bárta - Egyptologist

Czech Egyptologist and archeologist, professor of egyptology at the Charles University in Prague. He is in charge of a research conducted by the Czech Republic in Egypt and Sudan. He has devoted his time to studying the history of Egypt covering a span of 3,000 years B.C., the importance of the desert for the Ancient Egypt, as well as the way the civilizations collapse, and to applying natural sciences to Egyptology. He has written many books on Ancient Egypt both in Czech and in foreign languages, and recently edited (together with M. Kovář) an anthology of essays on the collapse of the historical and contemporary civilizations. He has worked in Egypt for 20 years.
