Kristylopi KAL 3: knitting the sleeves , magic loop, stranded knitting, yarn over short rows

BIG NEWS: I decided to then prolongate the KAL for a month! I will upload more videos each week about woolly Icelandic things! So it will now end on March 26th! I explain the reasons at the end of the video!

This week, we are knitting the sleeves and I continue to shown both Eglish and continental methods all the way. We work the sleeve using Magic loop technique (1:17), once the cuff is down we change needle and make some increases (10:09). Then we start the colorwork: read the chart (13:17), place yarns (14:02), choose the right colors (15:37), hold the yarns on right or left or both hands (17:08), tension the strands (25:26). I tell you about color dominance (33:36). We learn the increases M1L and M1R (36:34). I show you my row marker (38:48). Then we do the elbow shaping (43:21) and I show you the yarn over short rows (46:53). At last we set the underarm stitches on hold (1:00) and I announce this week giveaway winner!

KAL PROGRAM: video uploaded every Friday around 6pm -GMT
January 29th: let´s talk about Icelandic yarn, make a swatch and try our hands at steeking!
February 5th: We knit the body!
February 12th: We knit the sleeves: introduction to colorwork and a few short rows for the elbow shaping!
February 19th: We knit the colorful yoke!
February 26th: Time for the finishing: half of the work used to say Olga granda-mother. Steeking, grafting, button bands, care, etc… there will be enough to do!

The last week, on March 26th, we´ll do a live and brag about our finished sweaters or our first sleeve! We´ll see depending on where the participants are in the world when it will work best!
Don´t be put off by the program, it´s a VERY quick sweater, knitted loose on big needles! And remember, no pressure to complete anything, just have fun!
